MIKÄ ON COMPASSIONART?
CompassionArt on uusi kansainvälinen hyväntekeväisyysjärjestö.
CompassionArtin perustaja on Deliriouksen laulaja Martin Smith ja
hänen vaimonsa Anna. CompassionArt-järjestön voimahahmojen
takana on 12-henkinen, gospelmaailman tunnetuimpien lauluntekijöiden
joukko. Heidän ensimmäinen yhteistyöprojektinsa CompassionArt-levy
julkaistiin 24.11.2008. Järjestön toiminta on puhtaasti
vapaaehtoista, ja kukaan lauluntekijöistä ei saa senttiäkään
myydyistä tuotteista. Kaikki tuotto kohdennetaan eri avustuskohteisiin
ympäri maailman. CompassionArtin työ ei kuitenkaan jää
vain yhteen CD-levyyn, vaan tulevaisuudessa järjestö tulee
tekemään aktiivisesti hyväntekeväisyystyötä
maailman eri kolkissa.
MITEN
COMPASSIONART-LEVYTYSPROJEKTI SAI ALKUNSA?
CompassionArt-levytysprojekti sai alkunsa Skotlannissa, jossa tapasivat
Martin Smithin kutsusta 12 gospelmaailman tunnetuinta lauluntekijää.
He kaikki tekivät tilaa kiireiseen aikatauluunsa ja lensivät
omalla kustannuksella 7 päivää kestävään
CompassionArtin ensimmäiseen yhteiseen tapaamiseen kirjoittamaan
lauluja ja rukoilemaan.
Uskomatonta.
Sitten
sama porukka kokoontui uudelleen muutaman viikon päästä
Lontoon Abbey Road Studioon äänittämään
14 ensimmäisen kokoontumisen aikana sävellettyä laulua.
Mukaan liittyi 7 huippulaulajaa ja nauhoitukset saatiin valmiiksi
kolmessa päivässä.
Vielä
uskomattomampaa.
Sen
jälkeen tapahtumat kävivät kiinnostavaksi; aikoisivatko
kustantajat, levy-yhtiöt ja lukuisat muut musiikkiteollisuuden
henkilöt liittyä mukaan? Aikoisivatko Kristillisen kentän
yhteisöt tehdä jotain mitä he eivät koskaan
aikaisemmin olleet tehneet? Aikoisivatko he luopua tuotoista ja
palkkioista ja ohjata nämä rahat hyväntekeväisyyskohteisiin
ympäri maailman?
Vastaus
oli KYLLÄ. Äänekäs sellainen.
COMPASSIONART-LEVY
CompassionArt-paketti koostuu 14 trackin CD-levystä sekä
DVD:stä. DVD sisältää 50 minuutin dokumentin,
trailereita, videoita sekä PDF-tiedoston laulujen sanoituksista
sointumerkkeineen.
Tämän
lisäksi lauluntekijät tuottavat kirjan ”The Art
of Compassion” (Hodder: julkaistaan marraskuussa 2008), joka
kertoo jokaisen kahdentoista lauluntekijän elämästä
ylistyksen ja toivon merkeissä.

Puolet näistä rahoista lahjoitetaan CompassionArt-järjestön
neljään pääavustuskohteeseen. Loput 50% jaetaan
kahdentoista CompassionArt-lauluntekijän kesken ja he lahjoittavat
rahat kukin omalla tahollaan valitsemaansa kohteeseen.
